Universal TCP/IP Network Bootdisk

Created by Buckner, Mark

The Univeral TCP/IP Network Bootdisk is a dos bootdisk with 94 nic drivers on a floppy disk. This thing is amazing! I use this for all of my imaging. We use an older version of Symantec Ghost that won't build a bootdisk for me, so I use this. I've used it on floppy, and then graduated to using it on CD. Now I use it mostly as a PXE boot disk.

Basic rundown - start with a Windows XP bootable floppy. Now download and run the Universal TCP/IP Network Bootdisk setup files here. Unzip the files, run the program, and follow the instructions.

Once you are done, boot from the floppy. When the menu comes up, enter your authentication information. You can also set a batch file to run when bootup is finished. When you are done, it will save any preferences to the floppy. Now you can take that floppy and make a bootable CD or a pxe boot image, and it will have all your preferences on it.

Personally, I have a batch file that runs at startup. It maps a drive to my images share on the network. From there I can run ghost to do my imaging.

If you need a good network boot disk, I highly recommend this one!
